Verrry busy week indeed. Got a new leak-proof kitchen window, had a job interview and managed to get some other stuff done as well. My pies don’t love me very much right now. They must be bored stiff with me gone all the time or too tired to play with them =( Poor poopsies.

I decided to sell some shoes at ebay which I can’t wear anymore due to the arthrosis in my right foot (yeah yeah, at age 27). Was too frustrating to see them standing unused in my hallway and, this way, I got a few euros for them. Now I am trying to get other shoes at Ebay I can wear. So far, I only won one auction. Very lovely real leather authentic 70s shoes – not yet worn! You gotta be lucky sometimes. They arrived yesterday:
Lovely beauties, aren’t they? Vintage / Nostalgia – you get the point.
When those guys were here for the new window (whatever you call them in english), I got some work done, but also managed to squeeze sth creative in. Have wanted to do some crafting with buttons for ages and finally took the opportunity. (Also, expect another post about button boxes soonish.) Halfway through, I noticed that I didn’t have as much jewellery supplies left as I thought I did. AND I couldn’t get what I wanted at our local store. So I will have to order somewhere online soon. However, one button necklace and two simple button brooches to show to you. I wanted the latter as an unostentatious accessory that draws the eye upwards (away from my huge hips). – Make sense?

Yesterday, I caved in and got some baking done. The first *insert evil C-word here* cookies/biscuits of the year. I tried out a new recipe for pistachio cookies (my old one is delicious, but a bit complicated). I believe, the result is quite yummy.

Today, I decided to dye some fabric. Remember the light blue one with the dark blue dots? Must have posted about it somewhere (too lazy to look it up). The print was sooo ugly, some of those dots didn’t show fully. Couldn’t use it like that. I tried to dye it navy-blue. Went rather well, although there are some lighter patches left. – As was to be expected since I didn’t do it in the washing maching and only had a rather small wash bowl. Nevertheless, I am quite satisfied with the result. Okay, the fabric still needs to dry. Only then will I see how much of the colour really took. Here a “before-during-after, but still wet”-photo:

Last not least, today’s confession. Ach, I’m such a bad girl. Didn’t I tell you I’d just quietly use up my stock of yarn and my stock of beads etc. and afterwards concentrate on sewing forever? – I had such a major relapse! No, I didn’t buy any new yarns or beads or stuff like that. In a way, it’s even worse. I bought a book! How to crochet necklaces with beads *cries*. I basically know how to do that already. I have crocheted with beads before, though no jewellery. BUT this book includes lovely patterns AND there’s a second volume with patterns only. The most adorable patterns! So you see, I’ll have to have a second relapse and buy that one, too. *cries a bit more*. For once, the books actually are in german. Both were written by Claudia Schumann and are called “Glasperlenketten häkeln” and “Glasperlenketten häkeln – Das Musterbuch”. Buy them here and here. – I truly recommend them! I don’t even think you need to know a lot of german to understand the process. The images mostly talk for themselves. Some examples:

My creative to-do list is so abnormally long, I’d need a year to get evyerthing done even if there wasn’t a jillion other things to do! So, truth be told, it takes a miracle to get me started on one of these necklaces. – No comment.
Alllrighty, I am rambling, just rushing through the news. Keep your fingers crossed on monday, will have another job interview. Will keep you informed. :-*
