Today, I got up at an ungodly hour just to meet a friend for a cup of coffee. Okay, it was 8 o’clock, but I had only 6 hours of sleep anyway. This friend I met graduated in june and, like me, has been searching for a job since then.  – She finally got one! The job of her (and my) dreams. Great conditions, very friendly supporting colleagues it seems, quite a lot of money, interesting work. The only thing she doesn’t like about it is that she’ll have to move south. The only thing I do not like about it is that she’ll have to move south. In 3 weeks. She is my only friend remaining in the region, because all else already started a work life everywhere but here. Now she’ll be gone, too, and I wonder what I will do day after boring day when none of my friends remain? So that is sad. Nontheless, I am immensely happy she made it and take it as a good sign that ‘people like us’ have a chance for a job, too.

Now on to sewing news. I *finally finally finally* finished the Simplicity 3964 top. – And messed it up royally. Fortunately, most of the errors are only visible on the inside of the garment. They could be fixed, too, I guess, but for now I’ve had enough. Not to mention I have to sew that dress for my sister’s wedding at top speed now. Well, to sum it up: The pattern is not difficult, but I only managed to do it in 10 minutes steps having so much else on my plate. I always tried to cram as much as possible into those short intervals, but it only resulted in me messing up. Will definitely try it again at a later time. For some reason, I did not like the triangle ending in such a sharp point, I altered that a bit. The fabrica are a popelin called ‘Chapada’ and off-white batiste. I wanna do more with Chapada, just totally love it (pattern as well as it’s smoothness). It’s also available in blue so I might get that next time. Enough words, here is a photo (the red circle marks the visible sewing mistake).

Furthermore, I got around to sew a case for my crochet hooks. I’ve meant to do that for ages and am very pleased with the result. I used a placemat as base. Placemats are a great base for a lot of projects. I have made bags and potholders outta them, for example.

- Okay, WordPress is giving me hell here. Dunno what’s wrong, but I’ll have to shorten this post. Sorry ’bout that!
